Velázquez & Goya Prize 2024
On October 26th, 2024, I received the International Prize Velázquez & Goya in Barcelona, at Casa Milà – La Pedrera. The prize was awarded by the Fondazione Effetto Arte, by Dott. Francesco and Salvatore Russo.
This award recognizes artists who have distinguished themselves over the years for their artistic research and for the stylistic value of their works.
I received it with my artwork "Strange Way of Life – Extraña Forma de Vida", inspired by my artistic journey through the short film by Pedro Almodóvar.

A passage of intense light on the line of gold paint at the upper third of my canvases, and this thin green line appears, like the last rays of the sun touching the earth and the sky.
This perfectly represents the bond between Jake and Silva — this passion between two temperaments that creates such singularity.
