My voice I ma voix

written the 7th of October 2026 I écrit le 7 octobre 2026

My body says... no... So I need to take care of myself. It's strange; my voice comes and goes like a wave. I have a cold too.

I am going to reflect on the fact that my voice is moving like this. I am also continuing my studies with Jo Kelly at the same time, so I am digging deep.

What next I Quoi ensuite

Lux Art Prize done! I am happy to have been able to submit a painting for the final deadline of the contest, it was no small feat given the turbulence in my life right now.

Change is undeniably on the way (finding a new job while waiting to live fully as an artist ), incredible painting projects... Yes, they are in the works, stay tuned and travels always in preparation... Los Angeles is looking good...

Since my voice has currently decided to take off, I have no volume left. Perhaps a sign that I need to take care of my inner world and my body for the coming year?

I will continue to explore perhaps these 3 senses .I deliberately include emotion, which for me works as a sense in its own right).

So I have at my disposal: emotion, smell and touch. And I will also let myself be guided by whatever comes.

My last canvas for the final part of the Luxembourg series : The Touch
And yes it's not the "Vision"

I felt the urge to let myself be carried by the softness of these gestures , like a gentle enveloping sensation, a feeling of cotton. I quickly put down my brush to use my hands and feel the canvas under my fingers.
In my journey, I needed to release my emotion, to breathe in a scent on an inhale, leading me to the most physical of senses, taste, to learn to go further into the state of 'being' here and now.
I believe that to access my other senses, vision was not the right step at this stage, it will come in its own time

Here we are. The last canvas for the final part of the Luxembourg series.

The difficulty these last months has been finding the energy to create. When my instrument, "myself" is not getting enough rest, calm, and a free mind, I don't have full access to my source of creation; my channel isn't open enough to give all its potential.

I am currently working on my instrument, learning to use my emotions and intuition with more confidence and precision, through different coaching sessions in acting and other disciplines.

I had the chance to attend a piano recital last week with an amazing artist. I was so touched by the roundness and the warmth of the sound, like the flow ot a river. Every artist, in painting as in any other art, has their own touch. And it gave me an extra boost of inspiration for my next canvas.

The next day, I had signed up for an improvisation recital by the same pianist, Mrs Gabriela Montero. It was so interesting to learn about her way of connecting to improvise. It is similar to the way I work when creating paintings.

And this week, I had the chance to listen to a fascinating conference with my cousin from LA and one of his colleagues, around an old manuscript of recipes with interesting information on spices in Medieval times... An idea for my next sense "the taste"

For the second diptych, elongated in form, I wanted, as I often do, to let myself be guided by something singular to nourish the inspiration. Having explored the essence of sight and tears in the first piece, I turned this time to the sense of smell, weaving into the canvas a touch of perfume : La Petite Robe Noire by Guerlain. What I find striking is that, depending on temperature and proximity, the scent's trail resurfaces at moments, like a quiet presence lingering within the canvas.

I first explored a vertical composition, but it did not satisfy me. I let time pass, let the idea settle slowly, the way a fragrance does. I searched for what I could add, with this desire to create something light, airborne, to preserve that notion of perfume, the impression that remains once the scent has faded, as in a room, or in a woman's hair. For perfume, more than any other sensation, is intimately tied to memory: it holds the rare power to revive a moment, a face, a forgotten emotion, long after everything else has faded away.

One evening, I looked up at the sky and watched the clouds shift in color. That moment opened a new perspective for me: I understood that I needed to change my way of looking at the canvas. That is how the panels, already laid out with their blue background and golden column, vertical at first settled instead into a horizontal form, like a golden horizon in motion. It was then that I knew exactly where to place the brushstrokes, where to carve the depths. This gaze turned toward the sky, this return to the sense of sight, is what connects this piece back to the first diptych and its language of tears, as if perfume and memory had, for a brief moment, returned me to the light.

Sometimes it is difficult to find the next idea, the next breath, when starting a new piece or a new theme. Once again, intuition guided me well. I picked up one of my poetry collections, "Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair" by Pablo Neruda. I opened the book at random and landed on the poem titled "Bella", a beautiful echo of my last piece of the same name, which had closed my inspiration the year before.

I read the poem at my studio table, and tears fell onto the canvases. This poem carries such love, such tenderness. This work captures the depth of emotion I felt while reading it, and the lasting imprint it left on me. This is what I will be working on throughout this year: immersing myself in painting, alongside music and poetic writing, what these arts bring me, both in my work and in life in general. I experience color as vibration, and this year I find it compelling to explore that idea further.

This is also the centennial year of the birth of my icon and favorite actress, Mrs. Marilyn Monroe, an artist who also wrote fragments of poetry and was a singer in her own right. A fitting inspiration for a piece in line with this year's artistic direction. This work is titled "Pearls of Emotion."

Cette œuvre s'intitule « Pearls of Emotion ».

Pearls of Emotion_with reflections_2026

You have here the painting with the reflection of the light, and the darkness is coming alive.
The light plays with the stones that gives a zoom on the leaves of gold, like a drop of water or a tear.

I need sweetness, rest and to recharge my batteries.

This week has been a little hard emotionally. I think I have passed a step in understanding my inner strength. I want to take care of myself and release my tensions.

I won't stop painting, impossible, it's my oxygen. But until the end of the year, I will be more "taking my time", to recharge my batteries for the next step I can feel coming.

I am also thinking about organising a trip at the end of the year for pleasure and contemplation. I have a feeling about Greece these days. And Los Angeles of course, for Marilyn at the Motion Picture museum, impossible to miss it.

I also have an award ceremony on the 12th of September in Cannes in the same place as my exhibition during the 77th Film Festival.

I let myself follow the wave perhaps something I haven't thought of yet will find its way to me, like usual. A surprise.

Take care of yourselves, be gentle with others and with yourself.

Next sens : the vision

It's the perfect moment to create this sense not only with the physical sense, but with an inner vision. I am at a moment in life where I need to look at my purpose, my wishes and dreams, and bring them to life.

There are always ups and downs in life that's the game. But when something is no longer aligned with you, it's the moment to change, to move forward, always staying true to your evolution, to be authentic.

I confirm to myself that I want sweetness, lightness.

Now, looking inside myself  what I want, what I need... Colors, light and good vibes. Since my little trip to the UK to see the Bad Bunny concert, I feel the need to paint powerful colors with a touch of sweetness.

To change the point of view ...

When you create, you sometimes have an idea of what you want and in the middle of the work, the vision evolves because you follow the movement, the colors. You let it dry, and you find a new perspective.
I always have the vision of something vaporous, ethereal, imbued with reverie.

I am working on a diptych, I was working on the vertical, and something didn't feel right, something was off-balance. I went out on my balcony to observe the sky with a beautiful and amazing light — 6 minutes later, the light shifted to an intense orange. It worked on my mind, and that night I felt quieter inside. I moved the canvases and found the right position. I observed and felt peace — and balance in the lines.

I can finish the canvases.

Inspiration for this new year... Good question!

In fact, I created a diptych at the beginning of this year (picture coming soon), and I had the idea to use music — but for the moment, I haven't found the exact way to bring it to life.

So, I am waiting for a sign from the Universe & my intuition... And as I already mentioned, this is the year of my Icon Marilyn 🥰... Chanel N°5... and also my mother's perfume.

I discovered on Instagram a story with an interesting piece of information about how this perfume was created... with a flower I have known since childhood and whose fragrance I love... Jasmine.

It is a flower that is an emblem of part of my roots (Tunisia)  — a place where part of the luxury perfume industry sources its flowers — my hometown Nabeul. Funny how things connect, isn't it?

And now it is mine. Finally I can wear it, and it feels so right.

So it is not with the sense of hearing that I will work... but with the sense of smell and flowers. What a wonderful sensation — and a sweet wink from life today, as the flowers, it was something my grandmother loved so much.

L'inspiration pour cette nouvelle année... Bonne question!
